Introduction
SOULINBRENTFORD have partnered with Kick London to run another term of the Brentford’s Youth Football Academy for young people in Brentford, which seeks to “Transform young people’s lives, with God’s love, through football”.
Purpose of academy
To work with young people within the local community of Brentford to teach:
- Football skills training, delivered by FA qualified football coaches
- Life skills, such as; self-control, discipline, teamwork, and responsibility
- Christian values
Who is the academy for?
The academy is open to all young people in school years 3-9 whatever their level or standard of football – this is about “football for all” not elitism.
It is specifically aimed at young people within the Brentford area who have no or little connection with Church.
Who runs the academy?
The local Brentford management team plan the ongoing strategy with Kick London.
Each session Kick London provides an FA qualified football coach to run the academy, together with additional trained coaches and volunteers from SOULINBRENTFORD.
Where is the academy held?
The academy will be held in St. Paul’s Rec, off Lateward Rd in Brentford.
When did the academy begin and what are the dates for this term?
The academy began on Sunday 26th April 2009 and had a very successful first term.
We now start again on 20th Sept and run every Sunday until 13th Dec, 12.30pm – 2pm.
